Jon Foreman - Your Love Is Strong
Heavenly Father
You always amaze me
Let your kingdom come
In my world and in my life
You give me the food I need
To live through the day
And forgive me as I forgive
The people that wronged me
Lead me far from temptation
Deliver me from the evil one
I look out the window
The birds are composing
Not a note is out of tune
Or out of place
I look at the meadow
And stare at the flowers
Better dressed than any girl
On her wedding day
So why do I worry?
Why do I freak out?
God knows what I need
You know what I need
Chorus (3x):
Your love is
Your love is
Your love is strong
The kingdom of the heavens
Is now advancing
Invade my heart
Invade this broken town
The kingdom of the heavens
Is buried treasure
Will you sell yourself
To buy the one you’ve found?
Two things you told me
That you are strong
And you love me
Yes, you love me
(Chorus 3x)
Our God in heaven
Hallowed be
Thy name above all names
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us today our daily bread
Forgive us wicked sinners
Lead us far away from our vices
And deliver us from these prisons
Get back up. Don’t believe the lie. Grab His hand, the one always extended. Remember who you’re made to be. Don’t look back.
Satan has a plan too: throw it out the window. Failure doesn’t get the final word. There’s only One who does. You choose that, or not. It’s who you’re becoming.
Every thought on your deathbed hinges on what you do from here. That series of small moments that feel like nothing, those little compromises and consequences that seem reversible: they mean everything. That’s life. Even the grand moments of victory are punctuated by the tilt of your posture, the chin up in pride or the heart bowed in humility.
Defeated again: it happens. Stop running to escape or working to control. Neither works. What matters is what you do now. That’s a matter of who you’re becoming.
God is a holy, holy, holy god. He does have the freedom to judge you however He wants to. I don’t care how much you feel something, desire something, believe God ought to do something a certain way. He’s not bound to your feelings, your notions, your opinions. He doesn’t care what [I] conjure up in my head of what I think ought to be right or ought to be wrong. He says, ‘You’re not God. I am. And here’s what I say is right and wrong.’
It doesn’t matter that you say, ‘He has no right to punish me. He has no right to have this type of wrath. Or a loving God can’t create a place of punishment.’ You need to understand: God does whatever He wants to do, and it’s not about you. Maybe you’ve lived this weird Disney Land life where people bow down to you and really care about your opinion. That’s not the way God is. I don’t care how powerful you are. I don’t care how much money you have. I don’t care how good you look. I don’t care how popular you think you are. You’re nothing. I’m nothing in the presence of God. … But because of the blood of Christ, He calls me His child.

“Today I can announce that our advisers will continue their efforts to bring this madman to justice and to save lives. It’s part of our regional strategy to end the scourge that is the LRA and help realize a future where no African child is stolen from their family and no girl is raped and no boy is turned into a child soldier.”

Last night, a fire broke out at my church’s offices. The church is called Flood Church, located in the community of Kearney Mesa in San Diego. Our Sunday worship services meet at a high school about 5 miles away so we can still have out church services, and especially our Easter services, but the church office building is where the whole staff has their offices and where a larger number of mid week events happen, including College Group, the ministry that I volunteer in. No one was hurt in this fire but there was an estimate of about $1,000,000 in damages. If you want more information you can read this article or go to Flood’s facebook page. Please keep my church in your prayers! Any and all prayers are much appreciated! Thank you!
In Charity Navigator’s response to the misinterpretation of their ratings concerning Invisible Children they state that “Invisible Children is actually outperforming most charities” on expense allocation and commend our commitment to transparency.
Check it out. Stay informed. There is a lot of misinformation being spread around. If you haven’t already, watch our CEO Ben Keesey speak about Invisible Children’s model and approach to how we spend our money.
